PUNK/HARDCORE
(S.O.D.)

S.O.D.

The Stormtroopers of Death (Like D.R.I.) are one of the true crossover innovators.
They splintered off of Anthrax and Nuclear Assault with
Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, and Danny Lilker (also of Brutal Truth)
...joining forces with Billy Milano.
(Who later formed M.O.D.)
The MOSH truly began with the release of their Speak English Or Die L.P. (1985)
This was something entirely fresh and brutal.
They combined stomping thrash riffs with wicked blast beats and tons of metal energy.
They are legends of hardcore, yet have only released two full-length CD's
(Along with a Live one and a Vid or 2)
...over the course of their 16-or so year history.
(The other is "Bigger That The Devil" (1999)
Let's hope for much more to come from these guys. (but don't count on it; see below)
They have a decaying NEW, Official website, a link to which is found HERE:

UPDATE: 6-9-02
In case you haven't heard by now, this band has been reduced to a raging feud.
It seems to have been ignited by VH1's "Behind the Music" episode on Anthrax
and the lack of any mention of S.O.D. and/or Bassist Danny Lilker
(who was a founding member & gave Anthrax their name)
This has become quite the smoldering Broo-Ha-Ha, so I will provide you
with a couple of killer S.O.D. Links where you can read ALL about it.
Meanwhile, I myself am trying to get an exclusive interview with guitarist Scott Ian,
but he has already informed me that there will be NO discussion of the S.O.D. situation.
So here:

1. A KILLER S.O.D./ M.O.D. fansite
2. Interview with Billy Milano
3. Scott Ian Replies to Billy Milano

...3 places where you can read about this firestorm of controversy
Just follow the news links.
(12-21-02) I have added a rare S.O.D. Track to the Downloads page.
Finally, click
HERE
to read my Interview with Scott Ian.
