PUNK/HARDCORE
(Dead Kennedys)

This is one of the most notorious, controversial, and musically original Punk Bands of all time.
They were around during the earliest days of the West Coast/ Bay Area Punk scene.
Guitarist East Bay Ray has got one of the COOLEST damn combinations of sound and technique around.
Ditto for Bassist Klaus Fluoride.
On that subject, there is an epic tune called Cesspools in Eden on the Bedtime For Democracy L.P.
(It is one of their best, but least-known songs)
...that has the most God-like bass riffage and Monster Sci-Fi Surf Guitar Barrage of all time.
The interplay between these two is fucking Astounding.
There is a great wealth of material on these guys all over the web so I'll just link to some of it:

Just remember that when Jello speaks the world should listen,
